A Warm, Active Family Seeking a Reliable and Engaging Nanny

A busy and welcoming family in Denver’s Bonnie Brae neighborhood is seeking a warm, patient, energetic and highly reliable Full-Time Nanny / Family Assistant for their adorable and spunky 2-year-old daughter.

Their daughter is a social and talkative toddler who loves getting out of the house, playing with friends and visiting places such as children’s museums, kids’ gyms, parks and other age-appropriate activities. She speaks in impressive 6–7-word sentences and, once she feels comfortable with someone new, is full of giggles and personality!

She previously experienced some sensory-processing challenges and gross-motor delays. She began walking at 22 months and has made incredible progress through occupational therapy. Her parents are seeking someone patient and attentive who will continue supporting her development, confidence and independence through active play and thoughtful engagement.

Schedule

The family is seeking 42 hours of care per week:

• Monday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM

• Tuesday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM

• Wednesday: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM

• Thursday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM

• Friday: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM

The child will attend school on Tuesdays and Thursdays. During her school hours, the nanny will assist with household tasks, errands and family-assistant responsibilities.

The position will begin with a six-month contract, but the family anticipates extending the role if the arrangement is a great mutual fit.

Childcare Responsibilities

• Providing attentive, loving and developmentally appropriate care

• Planning engaging activities, outings and opportunities for socialization

• Supporting the child’s continued gross-motor, sensory and overall development

• Transporting her to and from school, activities and outings

• Maintaining her daily routines, including meals, naps and transitions

• Encouraging language, creativity, independence and age-appropriate learning

• Practicing positive and gentle discipline through redirection and natural consequences

• Keeping the child’s play areas, bedroom and belongings organized

• Completing the child’s laundry and light meal preparation

• Communicating openly and honestly with the parents regarding the child’s day, development and safety

The family prefers screens to be the exception rather than part of the daily routine. While the child is awake, the nanny should be actively engaged and personal phone use should be limited to necessary communication and emergencies.

Family Assistant Responsibilities

While the child is at school or sleeping, responsibilities may include:

• Grocery shopping approximately twice per month

• Light family meal preparation

• Light housekeeping and tidying

• Organizing spaces throughout the home

• Helping maintain an orderly and functional household

• Managing child-related supplies and anticipating when items need to be replenished

• Letting the family dog outside and refreshing her water

The family has a calm, friendly 3-year-old mixed-breed dog. No extensive pet care is required.

Parenting and Household Style

Both parents work full-time, with one parent currently working from a private office downstairs. They may transition to working outside the home more frequently. The parents do not anticipate being heavily involved during the nanny’s working hours and want the nanny to feel confident taking ownership of the day.

The family works hard and maintains a busy schedule, making dependability especially important. They hope to build a warm and trusting relationship with their nanny while maintaining healthy professional boundaries and protecting their limited family time.

Open communication, sound judgment and complete transparency—particularly regarding the child’s safety, health and daily experiences—are essential.

The family practices positive, gentle discipline focused on redirection and natural consequences. Physical punishment, yelling and overly harsh language or tones will not be tolerated.

Travel and Additional Opportunities

The family travels approximately three times per year and would love to have a nanny who is open to traveling with them. Additional travel opportunities may become available as the relationship develops.

Occasional evening or date-night care would also be greatly appreciated and compensated separately.

The nanny may take the child on outings using their own reliable vehicle. The family will provide an appropriate car seat and reimburse mileage at the current IRS rate.

The family travels frequently, which is expected to provide the nanny with substantial additional paid time off throughout the year. Their previous nanny received approximately six weeks of paid time off due to family travel, potentially more. Travel dates are placed on a shared calendar well in advance so the nanny can plan accordingly.

Requirements

• At least 21 years old

• Minimum of two years of professional childcare experience

• Toddler experience required

• Experience with sensory-processing differences, occupational therapy or developmental delays strongly preferred

• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and safe driving record

• Current CPR and First Aid certification

• Willingness to complete a comprehensive background and motor vehicle records check

• Current vaccinations, including Tdap, MMR, influenza, varicella and COVID-19

• Non-smoker

• Legally authorized to work in the United States
