Full-Time Household Manager Position in Boulder, CO – Start ASAP!
A generous family in Boulder is seeking a reliable, experienced nanny to join their household and provide support for their two children, ages 9.5 and 12. This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, with a somewhat flexible and unique schedule. You’ll be expected to work Monday – Friday, with hours falling between 7am – 7pm. Occasionally, you may be asked to work overnight or travel with the family (typically once every 3-4 months), but this will always be agreed upon in advance.
Key Responsibilities:
Morning and after-school care for two bright, creative, and energetic children.
Make school lunches and assist with preparing for school and after-school activities.
Take children to school and after-school activities (rock climbing, archery, piano lessons).
Provide guidance and structure for schoolwork, chores, and other responsibilities.
Other household tasks such as arranging handymen and running errands.
Help with household organization and light cleaning tasks as needed.
Help with maintaining routines, setting boundaries, and offering emotional support for the kids.
Manage service providers, negotiate and hire activity teachers, and manage family schedules.
Proactively identify gaps in the family calendar and help the family run more smoothly by taking on household project management tasks.
Someone that can project manage across a wide range of family oriented projects (including travel logistics, managing subcontractors, hiring/recruiting service providers, etc.)
About the Kids:
The 9-year-old is outgoing, extroverted, and loves physical activities like rock climbing and archery.
The 12-year-old is quieter, introverted, and enjoys playing piano and composing music.
Both children are fairly independent but need guidance to stay on track with their daily routines.
Ideal Candidate:
This family is looking for a family assistant with a good deal of maturity and experience, someone who can hit the ground running and understand how to work in a busy, high-functioning household without a significant amount of hand-holding or training. You’ll need to manage and prioritize a fast-paced family schedule, working well in an environment with a high level of executive functioning. While the kids are old enough to handle much of their own care, they need an organized, reliable adult to guide them and ensure they stay on schedule. You will also be expected to manage household tasks, service providers, and coordinate various family activities efficiently, similar to an executive assistant for the family.
Experience with children in this age group is preferred, as well as a passion for creating educational and enriching environments. Additional Requirements:
Must be able to work one weekend day per month (schedule arranged in advance, usually 4-5 hours).
Occasional overnight stays or travel with the family, as needed and agreed upon in advance.
Comfortable around pets – they have a gentle Siberian cat, known for being hypoallergenic.
Clean driving record and responsible driving skills, as this position involves a fair amount of driving.
Compensation & Benefits:
$35/hour+ based on experience.
Guaranteed 40 hours per week.
