About the Role:
An engaged family in Longmont, CO, is seeking a fluent Japanese-speaking tutor to support their three children (ages 9, 7, and 5) in language learning, cultural education, and academic enrichment. This role is perfect for an educator or language instructor with a passion for Japanese culture and a deep commitment to immersive, child-centered learning.
The children attend a Japanese language school once a week, and the tutor will provide ongoing support with language retention, conversational skills, and homework in Japanese.
Key Responsibilities:
Speak fluently in Japanese during tutoring sessions
Assist with Japanese language homework, reading, writing, and comprehension
Lead cultural enrichment activities (e.g., music, cooking, traditional customs, crafts)
Collaborate with the family to tailor lessons based on the children's interests and learning styles
Support homeschool efforts with an emphasis on Japanese-language materials
Provide a positive and engaging learning environment that nurtures curiosity and creativity
Ideal Candidate:
Fluent in Japanese (native or near-native proficiency)
Experience teaching or tutoring children, especially in language instruction
Background in education, linguistics, or childhood development preferred
