About the Family

Their son is a happy, curious 4-month-old who is beginning to discover the world around him. He loves his rattle moose, foot piano, and bouncer chair, and is currently working hard on strengthening his neck muscles and learning to roll over. His wake windows are getting longer, and right now he especially loves being held, interacted with, and showered with affection. His family hopes to find a nanny who truly enjoys this special stage of development and will engage him through play while encouraging each new milestone.

Mom is an optometrist who works outside of the home, while Dad works from a home office upstairs in the house. They describe themselves as easygoing, communicative, and excited to build a positive relationship with their nanny. Originally from the Midwest, they enjoy skiing, traveling, exploring new restaurants, spending time in the mountains, and being with friends and family.

The family also has a beloved Alaskan Malamute. While he is wonderful with their baby, he has shown some sensitivity around young toddlers and other dogs. Safety is extremely important to the family, and they have thoughtful systems in place—including gates and separation during the workday—to ensure both their son and dog remain safe and comfortable. The dog spends much of the day outside when weather permits, and the nanny's primary responsibility will always be focused on caring for their son.

Responsibilities

  • Providing attentive, loving care throughout the day

  • Planning age-appropriate play and developmental activities

  • Bottle feeding and following his daily routine

  • Diaper changes and maintaining a safe environment

  • Supporting healthy naps and sleep routines

  • Washing bottles and loading the bottle washer when needed

  • Keeping nursery and play areas tidy at the end of the day

  • Daily communication with parents regarding feedings, naps, milestones, and overall day

Outings

As their son grows, the family encourages getting outside and exploring. They live directly across the street from a park with a playground and library, making neighborhood walks and outings easy and enjoyable. While a vehicle is not currently needed due to his age, the family is open to the nanny using their own vehicle for outings once he is older and developmentally ready (with gas reimbursement provided).

The Ideal Candidate

The family is hoping to find someone who is:

  • Experienced caring for infants

  • Warm, patient, attentive, and genuinely loving

  • Reliable, punctual, and committed to showing up consistently

  • Passionate about early childhood development and infant milestones

  • A proactive communicator who provides updates and asks questions when needed

  • Comfortable with a large dog in the home

  • CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain certification)

  • Up to date on MMR vaccination and willing to receive an annual flu vaccine during flu season

  • Looking for a long-term position where they can become an important part of the family's lives

Why This Family?

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a kind, appreciative family during one of the most exciting stages of their son's life. They are looking for someone who truly loves what they do, enjoys spending their days with babies, and wants to build a meaningful relationship with a family that values communication, trust, and consistency. If you're passionate about nurturing infants and watching them discover the world around them, this could be the perfect long-term opportunity.
