About the Family

This warm, welcoming family of four in Golden is looking for a long-term nanny who wants to feel like part of the family. Their children—a 5-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy—are fun-loving, bright, and full of energy. They adore reading, crafts, games, and outings to the park or zoo. Every caregiver they’ve ever had calls them “the easiest kids!”

Mom is a tech startup COO and dad works from home as a consultant/writer (with occasional travel). They’ve had both au pairs and a nanny who stayed over 2 years, so they know what makes a great nanny/family partnership. They want someone who feels appreciated, respected, and proud to be a core part of keeping their home running smoothly.

Who They’re Looking For

The family’s ideal nanny is:

  • Engaged and Energetic: You love being active and creative with kids—whether that’s bike rides, park play, or reading stacks of books.

  • Reliable and Responsible: The family relies on you to help their household run smoothly. Reliability, on-time arrivals, and good communication are essential.

  • Flexible and Adaptable: Their schedule shifts between school year and summer, and they need someone who can flex between afternoons, evenings, full days, and occasional overnights or travel.

  • Helpful Around the Home: Light chores like folding laundry, sweeping under the table, doing dishes, and simple meal prep make a big difference.

  • Loving and Family-Oriented: You don’t just see this as a “job”—you love being with kids, and you’ll feel like part of the family.

Spanish-speaking is a plus but not required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • School pickups (M–TH, ~3:20 pm; 2:00 pm Fridays) and occasional morning drop-offs.

  • Afternoon/evening care during the school year, with at least one regular date night per week (Saturdays preferred, but can be flexible depending on candidates availability).

  • Full-day care during summers, school holidays, and sick days.

  • Plan and engage in enriching, active activities and outings.

  • Light household tasks (children’s laundry, dishes, sweeping, meal prep).

  • Provide safe, loving, and developmentally supportive care.

  • Occasional overnights or travel (with advance notice).

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional childcare experience (nanny, teacher, or similar).

  • Energetic, reliable, and proactive approach to childcare.

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance (mileage reimbursed).

  • Willingness to get annual flu shot and stay up-to-date on vaccines.

  • Ability to commit for at least 1 year.

Why This Job?

This is more than a nanny job—it’s a chance to join a family that values and respects their caregivers. They’ve built lasting friendships with every nanny and au pair they’ve had, and they want their next nanny to feel the same way: appreciated, trusted, and proud to be part of a warm, happy household.

If you’re looking for a position where you’ll feel like family, enjoy flexibility, and have fun with two truly sweet kids, this could be the perfect fit.
