Location: Genesee / Foothills Outside Golden, Colorado
Schedule: Full-Time | 40+ Guaranteed Hours per Week
Rate: $35/Hour+ DOE + Overtime for Anything over 40 Hours

Start Date: August or September 2026
Live-Out or Optional Live-In

A warm, active family in the Golden area is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and self-motivated Family Assistant / Nanny to help manage their household and care for their three wonderful children: a 6.5-year-old boy and 4-year-old boy/girl twins.

This is a true hybrid position, anticipated to be approximately 50% household management and 50% childcare during the school year. Because all three children will attend school five days per week, the family needs someone who can take ownership of household responsibilities before transitioning into school pickups, activities, homework, and afternoon care.

During school breaks and days when school is not in session, the position will function more like a traditional nanny role, with childcare taking priority and household responsibilities completed as time permits.

The family is seeking a long-term partnership of at least two years and hopes to find someone who will become a trusted, valued part of their household.

Schedule

The typical school-year schedule will be:

  • Monday–Friday, approximately 11:00 AM–7:00 PM

  • Some days may extend until approximately 8:00 PM depending on activities and the parents’ travel schedules

  • On school breaks and days when school is not in session, hours will generally shift to approximately 8:00 AM–5:00/6:00 PM

  • 40+ hours per week are guaranteed

  • Additional hours may be required when a parent is traveling

  • Occasional date nights and extended coverage

  • Overtime will be paid for all hours worked over 40 in a workweek

Both parents travel frequently for work, typically one to two times per month each. Candidates must be comfortable with a variable schedule and willing to provide additional support when one parent is away.

About the Children

The family’s oldest child is a curious, energetic 6.5-year-old entering first grade. He is twice exceptional—gifted and diagnosed with ADHD, combination type—and takes daily medication and participates in several therapies. He loves sea monsters, sharks, dinosaurs, Star Wars, Halloween, and anything just a little spooky! He benefits from structure, educational enrichment, patience, and a caregiver who understands how to support both his strengths and his individual needs.

The 4-year-old twins will be entering pre-kindergarten:

  • Their daughter is confident, talkative, and full of stories. She loves coloring, books, unicorns, Skye from Paw Patrol, and anything pink.

  • Their son is thoughtful, kind, persistent, and fearless. He loves monster trucks, crocodiles, Magnatiles, Legos, and building activities. He has asthma and significant environmental allergies and requires a caregiver who can carefully monitor symptoms and confidently administer medication, including an inhaler or EpiPen, if necessary.

Experience supporting twice-exceptional or neurodivergent children, twins, asthma, or severe allergies would be highly valued. A background in education, enrichment, or tutoring would also be a wonderful asset.

Childcare Responsibilities

  • Picking the children up from school

  • Transporting them to therapies, appointments, classes, and extracurricular activities

  • Assisting with homework and school projects

  • Providing educational enrichment and age-appropriate activities

  • Supporting the children’s emotional regulation and development

  • Administering daily or emergency medication as directed

  • Maintaining awareness of asthma and allergy symptoms

  • Coordinating the children’s schedules, activities, and appointments with the parents

  • Preparing meals and snacks

  • Providing full-day care during school closures and breaks

  • Taking the children on outings, including museums, parks, swimming, and outdoor activities

  • Helping the children develop independence while maintaining clear and consistent boundaries

Family Assistant Responsibilities

  • Meal planning, preparation, and cooking

  • Grocery shopping and household supply management

  • Family laundry

  • Daily household upkeep and light housekeeping

  • Household organization and maintaining family systems

  • Running errands

  • Assisting with vehicle maintenance and related appointments

  • Keeping track of household needs and proactively addressing them

  • Helping the family stay organized during busy work and travel periods

The ideal candidate will notice what needs to be done, take initiative, and enjoy creating systems that keep a busy household running smoothly.

Travel

The family typically takes two to five domestic or international trips per year, lasting approximately three to ten days each. The Family Assistant/Nanny must be willing and able to accompany the family on these trips.

The family will cover travel-related expenses and provide all applicable compensation, including overtime. Flexibility, adaptability, and a positive attitude are especially important while traveling.

Parenting Philosophy

The family generally follows a gentle-parenting approach centered on empathy, understanding, co-regulation, redirection, and logical consequences. They prioritize helping their children feel respected and heard while maintaining appropriate structure, boundaries, and expectations.

They do not use physical punishment or traditional time-outs. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing calm, consistent guidance and adapting their approach to meet the needs of a child with ADHD.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal Family Assistant/Nanny will be:

  • Warm, caring, energetic, and fun

  • Exceptionally organized and dependable

  • Self-motivated and proactive

  • Experienced in both childcare and household management

  • Comfortable balancing approximately equal parts childcare and family-assistant work

  • Confident caring for three active children

  • Knowledgeable about neurodivergence, ADHD, giftedness, or twice-exceptional children

  • Attentive and confident managing asthma, allergies, and medications

  • Interested in education, tutoring, and enrichment

  • A strong swimmer who enjoys outdoor and mountain activities

  • Flexible when the parents are traveling

  • Comfortable traveling domestically and internationally

  • Familiar with driving in Colorado and mountain conditions

  • Able to commit to the family for at least two years

  • Vaccinated according to recommended guidelines and willing to receive annual flu and COVID vaccines

  • Open to occasional date nights and additional hours

Family Lifestyle

This is an active, outdoors-oriented family that enjoys biking, hiking, swimming, water play, skiing, museums, and learning together. With three children and two frequently traveling parents, their household is structured and well organized while still allowing room for flexibility and fun.

Both parents generally work outside the home. When working remotely, they use separate office spaces and respect appropriate boundaries so the Family Assistant/Nanny can maintain the flow of the day.

The family provides a van, car seats, and a family credit card for all work-related driving, errands, and expenses. The employee will not need to use personal funds or wait for reimbursement.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $35/hour+ per hour, depending on experience

  • 40+ guaranteed hours per week

  • Overtime paid for all hours worked over 40

  • At least two weeks of paid time off

  • Paid sick leave

  • Ten paid holidays annually

  • Monthly health insurance stipend

  • Annual holiday bonus

  • Family vehicle and car seats provided for all work-related transportation

  • Family credit card for approved work expenses

  • All travel expenses covered

  • Optional separate living accommodations for an exceptional live-in candidate

This is an excellent opportunity for a career Family Assistant/Nanny who enjoys children but is equally energized by household management, organization, and helping a busy family’s life run seamlessly.
