Family Assistant / House Manager Needed in Cherry Hills Village
Position Overview
A warm and active family of four based in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado, with two middle- and high-school-aged children and two medium-sized dogs, is seeking an experienced, dependable, and detail-oriented Family Assistant / House Manager to support the day-to-day operation of their home.
Both principals are busy professionals who work full-time, making this position an essential part of maintaining a well-organized household and supporting the daily schedules, transportation, and overall well-being of their teenage children and dogs.
This is a hands-on, dynamic role for someone who enjoys creating an organized and welcoming home while balancing household responsibilities, family logistics, meal preparation, errands, pet care, and afternoon transportation. The family employs professional housekeepers once per week for deep cleaning and also has a part-time Estate Manager. This role will work collaboratively with the Estate Manager and other household service providers to ensure the home is consistently well maintained, organized, and prepared for the family's needs.
Key Responsibilities
Teen & Family Support
Provide reliable afternoon transportation for two middle- and high-school-aged children.
Coordinate transportation to and from sports, practices, activities, appointments, and other commitments.
Stay informed of the family calendar and proactively anticipate changing transportation and scheduling needs.
Assist with age-appropriate logistical support, including sports equipment, school-related needs, and preparation for activities.
Provide a responsible and supportive adult presence while respecting the independence appropriate for teenagers.
Meal Planning & Culinary Support
Develop a weekly menu based on the family's calendar, activities, dietary preferences, and schedule for family review.
Procurement of culinary and household items and maintain an organized refrigerator, freezer, and pantry.
Prepare approximately 3-4 healthy, family-friendly meals per week.
Be mindful of the family's food preferences and health-conscious approach to meals.
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen following meal preparation.
Household Reset & Organization
Complete a daily reset of primary living spaces to maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming home.
Tidy up bedrooms and bathrooms including guest rooms when guests are in town.
Reset the kitchen, including loading and unloading the dishwasher, wiping counters and surfaces, and maintaining general kitchen organization.
Provide light vacuuming and touch-up cleaning of main-level floors and high-use areas as needed.
Maintain organization throughout common areas and address household clutter throughout the day.
Reset and maintain patio and outdoor living spaces.
Provide routine care for household plants.
Identify organizational projects and opportunities to improve household functionality and efficiency.
Laundry & Wardrobe Care
Manage routine family laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and putting items away.
Provide appropriate care for clothing, linens, and household textiles.
Identify items requiring dry cleaning, tailoring, or specialty care and coordinate drop-off and pickup.
Maintain organized closets, drawers, laundry areas, and wardrobe spaces.
Household Inventory, Procurement and Errands
Monitor groceries, pantry staples, household supplies, paper goods, cleaning products, personal-care items, and other frequently used household necessities.
Proactively identify items that are running low and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Complete household purchasing and restocking approximately twice per week or as needed.
Assist with online ordering, returns, exchanges, and household purchases.
Complete personal and household errands as requested.
Pet Care
Provide light daily care for two medium-sized dogs, including a daily walk.
Monitor outdoor and yard time and assist with picking up after the dogs.
Monitor food, treats, and pet supplies and replenish as necessary.
Assist with coordinating veterinary, grooming, and other pet-care appointments.
Household & Vendor Coordination
Work collaboratively with the family's part-time Estate Manager to maintain continuity and clear communication regarding household needs.
Communicate maintenance concerns, repairs, or household issues as they arise.
Assist with scheduling appointments and providing access for household service providers when appropriate.
Help ensure household projects and outstanding items are followed through to completion.
Qualifications
Prior professional experience in a similar Family Assistant, House Manager, Household Assistant, or private-service role strongly preferred.
Valid driver's license, safe driving record, and reliable transportation required.
Comfortable driving and transporting middle- and high-school-aged children to activities and appointments.
Comfortable working around and caring for two medium-sized dogs.
Experience managing household organization, errands, laundry, shopping, inventory, and family logistics.
Comfortable preparing healthy, family-style meals.
Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and time-management skills.
Proactive and observant, with the ability to anticipate household and family needs without requiring continual direction.
Positive, service-oriented attitude with a calm and flexible demeanor.
Comfortable working with active teenagers and adapting to schedules that may change based on school, sports, and family commitments.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the Estate Manager, principals, and other household professionals.
Professional, discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of the privacy required when working within a private residence.
Schedule
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position based at the family's residence in Cherry Hills Village. The schedule will generally be 9:00 AM-5:00 PM or 11:00 AM-7:00 PM, depending on the children's school, sports, and activity schedules. Flexibility between these hours is important, as afternoon and early-evening transportation is a key responsibility of the position.
This is a locally based role and does not require travel with the family.
Compensation & Benefits
W-2 employment.
$35-$40 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Two weeks of paid vacation.

Employment Requirements
