Congress Park Family Seeking Part-Time After-School Nanny (25 hours a week)
Start Date: Early January
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 2:15–6:45pm, Friday 2:15–5:45pm (25 hours/week)
Compensation: $28–$35/hour, depending on experience
A warm, laid-back family in Congress Park seeking a reliable, engaging, and caring after-school nanny for their three children, ages 5, 7, and 9. This position is ideal for a nanny who enjoys an active after-school routine, loves supporting sibling dynamics, and thrives in a role where each day brings a little something different.
About the Position
The nanny will pick the children up from school, prepare snacks, supervise playtime, and transport them to and from after-school activities. The kids enjoy staying busy—expect park outings, games, crafts, and lots of fun. The family also has a friendly, low-maintenance 10-year-old Labrador who enjoys pets, walks, and naps.
This is a long-term role, ideally lasting 3–5 years, but the family is open to flexibility for the right fit. Occasional date-night availability is a plus.
What This Family Values
They are looking for someone who is:
Understanding, fun, and caring
Calm and consistent with discipline
A clear communicator who maintains a professional but warm nanny–family relationship
Confident working independently and taking initiative, especially when plans shift
Comfortable supporting a child with ADHD (their middle child receives OT, therapy, and medication but still has challenging moments)
Both parents work outside the home most days. When working from home, they stay in a separate office and prefer the nanny to take the lead on daily decisions.
