Full-Time Nanny / Family Assistant Needed for One Child in Boulder, CO
Dates: August 2026–May 2026 (9 month contract) or August 2026–August, 2027 (12 month contract),

About the Position
Peak Nanny Agency is working with a warm, upbeat family in Boulder seeking an exceptional Nanny / Family Assistant to become a trusted and lasting part of their household.
The family's 6-year-old son is their top priority, and they are looking for someone who genuinely loves connecting with children and brings warmth, empathy, emotional intelligence, and positive energy into his life.
Because he attends school Monday through Friday, the family can offer a full 40-hour guaranteed workweek by incorporating family assistant and household management responsibilities during school hours. This creates a unique opportunity for someone who loves working closely with a child but also enjoys taking ownership of the behind-the-scenes details that help a busy household run beautifully. The family travels frequently and is especially interested in someone excited to become part of their lifestyle. The most significant travel opportunity will be summer 2027 in Europe, primarily Paris from June through August. During the remainder of the year, the family can commit to no more than approximately one travel week per month, with additional travel opportunities potentially offered but not required.
About the Child
The family's 6-year-old son is an exceptionally warm, social, curious, and energetic little boy who connects easily with the people around him. He is artistic, imaginative, affectionate, and deeply attached to his friends, family, caregivers, and beloved miniature dachshund.He loves being outdoors, swimming, making art, playing games — including inventing his own — watching movies, cuddling, imaginative play, and pretending to be a superhero. At the moment, his future career aspirations include becoming both a paleontologist and a singer!
He is also incredibly thoughtful toward others. He is the type of child who wants to greet each classmate individually in the morning and is quick to comfort a friend who is having a difficult moment. He generally requires very little redirection and responds extremely well to calm, respectful verbal communication. If he becomes overwhelmed, he may choose to take a little space to process his feelings before rejoining the family. The family values caregivers who can respect those moments, remain emotionally steady, and provide reassurance without escalating the situation.
ARFID / Mealtime Support
The child has ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder) and currently works with an occupational therapist on structured eating therapy. The nanny will play an important role in reinforcing his therapist's approach during everyday meals and routines. The family is looking for someone patient, consistent, compassionate, and comfortable collaborating with his occupational therapist and parents. Previous experience with ARFID is welcomed but is not necessarily required for an otherwise exceptional candidate who is eager to learn.
Nanny Responsibilities
When the child is in the nanny's care, responsibilities will center entirely around creating a safe, engaging, loving, and developmentally supportive environment.
Responsibilities may include:
School transportation and activity transportation
Planning engaging activities, outings, playdates, and adventures
Outdoor play, swimming, arts and crafts, games, imaginative play, and other child-led activities
Supporting friendships and the family's active social calendar
Meal and snack preparation
Reinforcing his occupational therapist's structured approach to eating and ARFID support
Maintaining child-related spaces and belongings
Helping prepare for school, activities, outings, and travel
Supporting his social-emotional development through calm, respectful communication
Traveling domestically and internationally with the family
Providing attentive, safety-focused care while allowing him plenty of room to explore his interests and independence
The parents view true discipline as their responsibility. For normal day-to-day boundaries, they prefer calm communication, emotional awareness, and giving their son appropriate space to regulate when needed.
Family Assistant / Household Management Responsibilities
During school hours and other periods when childcare is not needed, the nanny will transition into a family assistant role. The family is less concerned with a candidate having performed every household task before and more interested in finding someone with an exceptional work ethic, initiative, organization, and follow-through.
Responsibilities will include a light housekeeping and household upkeep & contributing to a calm, organized, smoothly functioning household, such as:
Making beds
Tidying bedrooms
Doing dishes
Opening packages & disposing of packaging
Maintaining order in family spaces
Doing family laundry
Household organization
Helping manage household supplies
Preparing the home and family for travel
Unpacking and reorganizing following trips
Running errands
This is an excellent fit for someone who notices what needs to be done and takes ownership rather than waiting to be given a detailed task list.
A Very Important Four-Legged Family Member
The family also has a 10-pound miniature dachshund who is incredibly sweet, playful, and very attached to his people.The nanny/family assistant should be genuinely comfortable with dogs and willing to help maintain his established routine, including:
Potty breaks
Feeding
Cleaning up the occasional accident when necessary
Weekly Schedule
Both the child and one parent in the household are in school, with schedules that change during the school year. The following schedule is illustrative of a typical week with the family:
Monday 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Tuesday 12 PM - 8 PM
Wednesday 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Thursday 2 PM - 10 PM
Friday 6:30 AM - 3:30 PM
This schedule will evolve as the family’s school and activity changes over the course of the year, and the family will incorporate input from the nanny. The family is quite understanding and appreciates knowing about the nanny’s outside-work priorities so they can adjust the schedule accordingly.

Summers in Paris + Travel

The family maintains a spacious residence in Paris overlooking the Eiffel Tower and plans to spend June through August 2027 in Europe. Their nanny/family assistant may choose to accompany them and live with the family (in their own bedroom with private bathroom) during this period. Travel is an important part of this family's life, so they hope to find someone who views traveling together as an exciting part of the position rather than simply an obligation.
Outside of the summer, the family can commit to a maximum of approximately one required travel week per month. Additional trips may arise, but additional travel hours/opportunities can be offered without being required.
